I am planning on going there on the 27th of this month [ weather and road conditions pending ]. Any suggestions on where I may try leisje? I realize you haven't fished it in the winter, but a general idea would be better than none...

Thanks again,

shawno

I'll be waiting to hear the results of your trip.

Try the shoreline I have circled on the map, very sharp drop off.

Well it looks like it will be a no go for Lac Eau Claire this winter...

Just talked to the CO's and they said that no one has been on the lake this winter.
The road leading into the lake has not been plower and has drifted in too deep even for a 4x4. They have had a lot of snow in that area and last time they checked they have flood water on the ice. He said lake is has lots of natural springs and ice is poor at the best of times. He would not recommend attempting to access that lake this winter...

So it looks like my quest for Lakers close to S'toon will have to be on another lake this winter...

Thats to bad Shawno I have a lake here that holds lakers and I think it has underwater springs every year lots of slush probably why we don't see many fisherman on this lake during the winter, this water body I believe has springs as one spring time fish I could see air bubbles below the ice and coming up our drilled holes, plus this lake's water levels change as its part of a river system, Pikeslayer probably knows about this lake as he was from Thompson, the lake is Upper Ospwagan. Nothing like lakers through the ice its a real blast 8)

Yeah it is too bad...oh well not worth risking your life over!!

I am trying to convince pikeslayer to take me out to Hunter's Bay, but I may have to wait until spring because I no longer have a sled. I was hoping that I would be able to drive my truck as close to the lake [ Lac Eau Claire ] as I could and then just walk out onto the lake as it is not a very big lake. But there is still a couple of months to go. Who knows where my travels may take me...
