Just got back last weekend from our annual trip up to Reed Lake. 90+% of our fishing time is spent casting for BIG northerns (with a few hours spent fishing for walleye and lake trout). Fishing was a bit slow this year, but we did manage to put some nice size fish in the boats. Two of the guys landed fish that were 46"s. My best for the year was 43"s. All in all we had a good trip with only minimal boat issues: one bad low pressure fuel pump; one bad tilt 'n' trim solenoid, one trolling motor foot pad issue, and one skeg n prop found a rock. Fortunately I have two brothers who can McGiver (ie fix) just about anything. No vehicle or trailer issues on the trip up or back (1,700+ miles round trip).

It was a very windy week on the lakes. Which made it tough for the firefighters I'm sure. We could see and smell the smoke nearly every day.

Anyway, here are a few pictures from the week:

Some nice fish there! Sounds like a good trip all in all. A windy week is tough for that lake and only 1 rock encounter is good for that lake. Thanks for the report out.
