Well looks like chumming for trout is an effective method. My question is what fish from the US has anyone cut up and tried to use up North for chum. I am guessing any from the sucker family we have around but also thinking drum aka. river perch may also be good or can you buy chum on your way north at certain stops?

Well I have an endless supply of cracked corm if needed but would have to think that fish would be better. I am sure cracked corn can work same as egg shells but that is mainly a visible attractor if I am not mistaken. Yellow and white are great colors thou.

Canned corn I believe is what your talking about? It works awesome for Rainbow trout for chumming and even putting on a small hook, they will gorge themselves on canned corn, not for Lake trout though, use baitfish like sucker and whitefish seem to work the best as these fish are nice and oily

Chumming works great here in the US. I can attest, why just yesterday we were on Lk. Michigan in 6ft swells. Within an hour some of the folks on the boat were chumming up Big Macs/Fries/Coke, and why just within a few moments after that the kings/rainbows starting to slam lines coming off of our planer boards and downriggers!
